Why Shayna?

You’ve probably already read about why I named my first girl Shisha.

When I got Shayna – her name was April – and although Shisha died in April, the name really meant nothing to me and didn’t seem to suit her either.  I wanted to continue my trend of a Hebrew name, but didn’t think Sheeva (7) was right.  Again “schvatza” would probably be out, too. LOL

Well – she is beautiful. How perfect is “Shayna”  – it means beautiful (German / Yiddish),  as in the Yiddish saying “Shayna Punim” –  Beautiful Face.

Quite often I find myself calling her “Shayna Shay” – Beautiful Shay
